1 The Elisp (client) side protocol

1.1 The client

The client is an elisp object. Its features might be enhanced using the class deriving mechanism. Anyway following basic features are provided :

1.2 Filtering

The filter method interprets the stream returned by the server (see in particular 2.1.) In particular the elisp variable scmel–object should be used in these kinds of transactions. It refers to the client itself that is actually filtering.

The let binding here is needed because of lexical-binding that makes ‘this’ unavailable when evaluating the elisp code contained in ‘lisp-object’. In particular scmel–object should be used in scmel_export_object server side method; in particular when returning a command like

‘(scmel-make ...)’

(see 1.3.)

1.3 Making objects

The scmel-make method might be launched server side to create a client side object.
